Cool Villains - Vigo The Carpathian

No blockbuster movie is complete without a cool badass villain, and this guy is no exception.
Enter Vigo The Carpathian! He was the baddie in the 1989 sequel to the phenomenally successful "Ghostbusters". Fictional though he was, apparently the character was inspired by historical figures such as Vlad The Impaler and Rasputin.
He was played by a guy called Wilhelm Von Homburg AKA Norbert Grupe, who himself was quite a character, if the Wiki entry on him is any indication.
Many years ago I played the PC version of Blood Omen, the first in the series of games featuring the Angry Young Man turned vampire, Kain. Whenever I pictured Kain back then, I always thought of Vigo.

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our society, and I am fairly confident when I say that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of downloading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about almost every day.
